For more than 33 years, our experts at Revive RX Med Spa have stayed ahead of the curve in clinically proven effective and safe aesthetic treatments. Our services also present nonsurgical alternatives to combat signs of aging and sun and environmental damage to the skin. True to this approach, we offer not only the oldest and most well-known “wrinkle-relaxer” (Botox® Cosmetic), but our team in Kansas City, Missouri, is also proud to provide other, newer wrinkle-smoothing injections like Dysport®.
Dysport®, Botox®, and even newer treatments like Xeomin®, Jeuveau®, and Daxxify® all belong to a category of injectable procedures called neuromodulators. While that sounds like a mouthful, it simply refers to how the active ingredients in these products “modulate” the nerves responsible for muscle movements. By interfering with the process that leads to treated muscles contracting, your face stays nice and smooth. The muscle remains at rest, as does the overlying tissue.
Dysport® and other similar products are applied as “injectables.” We use very thin needles and a gentle yet precise hand to introduce the right amount of the solution to the right muscles.
Dysport® is generally indicated for use on the vertical frown lines between your eyebrows. These lines are caused by repeated facial movements or facial expressions. That’s why they are called “frown lines” due to their association with frowning. Dysport® has also been used safely and effectively to smooth forehead lines and crow’s feet caused by other facial movements, like squinting or expressing worry, anger, or surprise. In youthful and elastic skin, these creases are only noticeable when the expression is being made. They can persist as skin ages and lose its ability to bounce back or retain shape after movement. We’re happy to discuss other ways that Dysport® can help restore your skin’s youthful smoothness.
No treatment at Revive RX Med Spa should ever cause pain. If you are concerned about injections, know the process can be completed in minutes. We also make shallow injections using the smallest needles available, adding to a painless experience. If you are concerned, we can explore ways to keep you comfortable at every step.
Our Kansas City, MO team knows all the nuances among these different products. Due to this knowledge, we recommend the best option for you. Generally, some patients have noticed that the results from Dysport® tend to “kick in” faster than with other products listed above. It’s possible to see changes in just 24 hours. Also, Dysport® may last longer than other products. Its makers, Galderma Laboratories, report that the results can last up to five months. While patients’ responses to treatment vary and each experience differs, one thing is certain: Our considerable experience and expertise with injectables support natural results (you can still move your face!), safety, and comfort.
