Kathleen Stegman

Kathleen Stegman-Smith, RN, Ed.D., is a pioneer in medical aesthetics with over 30 years of experience. She holds an A.S. in Nursing from Johnson County Community College, a B.S. in Business Management from Park College, an M.A. in Business Marketing from Webster University, and a Doctorate in Health Education.

Her career began in 1982 with Image Insights, offering color draping, wardrobe planning, and makeup application. In 1991, she launched Natural Looks by Kathy, specializing in permanent makeup. She has trained extensively with the American Institute of Permanent Color Technology and other industry leaders and is a long-time member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals.

In 1996, she opened the first freestanding medical spa in the Kansas City area focused on permanent makeup, skincare, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels. Two years later, she founded Midwest Medical Aesthetics Center, P.A., expanding her services to include clinical skincare, laser hair removal, and injectable treatments.

Kathleen has introduced many first-to-market aesthetic technologies in Kansas City, including a wide range of lasers and devices for skin rejuvenation, fat reduction, and hair restoration. She has completed numerous advanced trainings in injectables (Botox and fillers), microneedling, RF and plasma treatments, thread lifts (with over 13 in-person certifications), Jet Plasma, mechanical vibration-based body sculpting, and more. She is also certified in microblading and MagnYm male enhancement procedures.

Committed to continuous learning, Kathleen regularly attends in-person trainings and participates in webinars to stay on the cutting edge of aesthetic innovation. Her focus on patient safety, education, and clinical excellence has earned her trust and recognition in the field.

She maintains current certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
