Over our more than 33-year history, Revive RX Med Spa has constantly evolved. We never stand still when investing in the best new treatments for our patients. Options like the Tixel® Fractional Skin Rejuvenation system are largely advancements in earlier-generation systems. These technologies support optimal treatment and the most convenient, comfortable, and safe experience. Regardless of unique needs and characteristics, all of our Kansas City, Missouri, area patients are unified in the following four steps and expectations for their treatment journey with Tixel®.
During a consultation, our experts will take a close look at your skin and skin concerns. We’ll also discuss other aspects of your life and goals that could make Tixel® (or another treatment) particularly appealing. Different technologies and therapies are sometimes combined to take your results to the next level. In general, Tixel® is described as a “full-spectrum” treatment appropriate for the face and body and for a range of age-related and stubborn skin concerns. It may be right for you if you’re bothered by:
Tixel® is incredibly versatile, so this only provides a partial list of its possible uses. It is safe for all skin types and can be used year-round.
Tixel® supports a hassle-free experience at every step. While pre-care is minimal, it’s generally necessary to stop using harsh medical-grade products like retinol as directed by our team in the days leading up to your appointment. As with most in-office therapies, you’ll also want to avoid sun exposure and to be particularly vigilant about applying and reapplying a good sunscreen in the days and weeks before treatment. Since Tixel® is not a laser or light-based device, no special eyewear protection is necessary before activating the device. Also, patients tolerate treatment so well that they may not even need a numbing cream for comfort. The very features of Tixel® that make it a versatile treatment also support a safe and comfortable experience; for instance, the settings in this system are highly customizable. This allows us to zero in on your concerns and “dial down” the energy generated (to minimize side effects during and after treatment).
Tixel® works by using patented Thermo-Mechanical Action®, a form of precisely controlled heating. The workhorse behind the treatment is a special device exposed to thermal energy. The energy heats the device, which we then apply to the targeted treatment sites. It is passed gently over the areas that need it the most and only makes fleeting contact while providing uniform coverage/treatment. The surrounding tissues are not treated. This makes it an effective yet safe and non-invasive therapy for many patients.
For most patients, there are zero to two days of downtime (depending on the settings used/intensity of treatment). Side effects are generally limited to slight swelling, pink discoloration, and a sensation of heat in the treated areas for around two to four hours post-treatment. There may also be some crusting and pinpoint discoloration for three or four days. You can get significant results with little to no demands on your schedule and body (for healing). Revive RX Med Spa may recommend a series of three to four monthly treatments for optimal results.
